Makes me think...

This is one of my favorite poems. I love reading poetry and listening to music because, if its the right author, it can say exactly what I'm feeling in a more exquisite and eloquent way. (I can be very wordy....please refer to ALL of my blogs :)This poem has always reminded me of the relationship I have with my mom, even more so now that I'm further away from her. I have never been this far from her, or have I gone these amounts of time without seeing her. We're incredibly close, and its such a comfort to know that someone out there does really love me as much as she does. No matter what I come to her with, she's got the right solution to the problem and never judges me. Her answers are always with my well-being in mind, and that is difficult to come by. Anyway, here is the poem.....

i carry your heart with me

e.e. cummings

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in my heart)

i am never without it(anywhere i go you go,my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing,my darling)

i fear no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)

i want no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)

and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant

and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows

(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;

which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)

and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)

My dearest Katie,
This blog is by far my favorite as it does speak well to the bond that we have. Not only are you my wonderful daughter, but my special friend.

I miss having you so close, but am so happy for you that you are following your dreams. It takes a certain strength to do that and not everyone can accomplish what you have. I know there is much that lies ahead for you and I am excited to sit back and watch the ride.

I love you very much and I'm sure you know that I am always here for you. Much love, Yo Mama
